Reseo

It was founded in 1996. It gathers the representatives of European opera houses belonging to the opera house departments that develop education of artists and create new young public. RESEO functions as a forum where education experiences are exchanged among European opera houses and thus the forum participants avail of the benefits from information exchange and sharing of ideas. RESEO also promotes forms and contents of education in order to support this form of work of opera houses through research, lobbying and through its own projects. RESEO has 49 member institutions, including opera houses, festivals, art centers and individuals. RESEO functions with a material support of the European Commission. Its seat is in Brussels (Belgium).

RESEO CONFERENCE IN MADLENIANUM BUILDING

RESEO Annual Conference and thematic sessions will take place at the Opera and Theatre Madlenianum on 31st May and 1st and 2nd June 2007. There is expected participation of some 50 representatives of European operas and festivals, members of this European opera association that primarily deals with education of new young opera public. RESEO has been active in the region of Europe for more than 10 years and this will be its first conference in one of the countries – members from the territory of South East Europe. After the completion of a regular annual conference, the following subject will be discussed: Different models of cultural development, with a special review of young opera public and its education. Some ten largest operas of Balkan countries that are not members of RESEO will be invited to this conference. The organizer of this conference aims to present and introduce to the opera houses of the Balkan region the activity and the goals of RESEO, but also to use this opportunity to discuss the issue of possibilities and contents of cooperation among the opera companies of the region.
