Gioacchino Rossini. Director was the guest from the
Czech Republic, Jitka Stokalska, conductor Aleksandar
Spasi?, scenographer Jasna Dragovi? and Jelena An?elkovi?
was the costume designer. Prof. Husnija Kurtovi? made
translation.
19th February The first guest performing of Yugoslav Drama Theatre at
MADLENIANUM – with the drama A BARREL OF GUNPOWDER by Dejan Dukovsky.
24th February The guest performing of the Theatre on Terazije with the musical
SOME LIKE IT HOT.
30th March The concert of the students of the »International Opera Academy
Katia Ricciarelli«, Gaetano Motta, tenor and Teresa Di Bari, soprano. The announced guest appearance of prima donna Katia Ricciarelli was cancelled for illness.
25th April The federal competition of ballet schools of Yugoslavia.
13th May The jubilee of the magazine ORCHESTRA – »Dance evening«. The magazine for art dance celebrates its fifth birthday.
26th May MADLENIANUM crosses the border. On the stage of Macedonian National Theatre in Skopje, MADLENIANUM guests with the opera IL SIGNOR BRUSCHINO by Gioacchino Rossini within »May Opera Evenings 2000«.
3rd June The guest appearance of MADLENIANUM at 45th Sterija
Pozorje in Novi Sad with the ballet ORPHEUS IN THE
UNDERWORLD.
5th July The presentation of the book AESTHETICS OF OPERA
DIRECTING by prof. Radoslav Lazi?, published by
MADLENIANUM Chamber Opera.
6th – 9th July 25th jubilee of the Festival of monodrama and pantomime.
13th October The première of the opera DIE KLUGE (The Wise Girl) by Karl
Orff. Director was Nono Dragovi? from Poland, conductor
Gorjan Korunoski from Germany, scenographer Miodrag
Taba?ki, costume designer Angelina Atlagi? and
choreographer Woiciech Misiuro from Poland.
27th November MADLENIANUM welcomes the guest performance of Bitola National Theatre with the musical PE?ELBARI (Guest Workers).
30th November The celebration of 20th anniversary of the radio program Classical Music Drugstore. The concert of BELTANGO quartet.
19th December The magazine Economist from Belgrade publishes the list of 45
most successful companies of Yugoslavia in 1999.
MADLENIANUM is on 15th place.
